It is the far far future.

The galaxy has seen empires come and go, sophont and post-sophont civilisations rise and fall.  Planets have been shattered and remade into megastructures.   New civilisations and empires have been built over the old.

Yet amongst the ruins of former eras, civilisation and habital biospheres still flourish.  Humanity, shares the cosmos with various xenoc and AI species, and with things even more alien.

Star travel lasts decades.  One never knows  if the world one is visiting hasn’t become a dangerous transcension in the meantime.

Terrifying and enigmatic godlike transingularitan beings, Jarchon, Archailects. Monstros, Elohom, Transcends, and more, dominate known space.

Monsterdwellers, populations of humans and other races, live off the abundant scraps and stolen technology, ever at risk of extermination from their frightening overlords.

Far away from the  transingularitan megastructures, human, xenoc, and machine races contend for territory and resources, trade with monsterdwellers, search for priceless ancient artifacts, and fight over relics and technology left by former postsapient civilisations.

There are vast fortunes to be made, if you know where to find them.   Hostile corporates and ruthless rivals vying for the same treasures.  And terrifying hazards and traps that claim the lives of even the most experienced spacers and prospectors.  Yet the dream of a lucky strike  lures prospectors and adventurers out into the universe.

A Hard SF space punk adventure.
